Today in Moscow a working meeting of the Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller and the acting Head of the Republic of Karelia Arthur Parfenchikov took place.
The parties discussed the course and prospects for the development of cooperation. A special attention was paid to the gasification of Karelia. It was noted that the total volume of investments by Gazprom for these purposes in 2007-2016 amounted to 8.36 billion rubles. Ten gas pipelines with a length of 186 km were built. As a result, the level of gasification in the region has been consistently increasing - in comparison with January 1, 2007 it increased by 4.8% and as of January 1, 2017 it was 6.6%.

In 2017, the company will allocate 1 billion rubles for the development of the gasification of the republic. In particular, it is planned to complete the construction of two inter-settlement gas pipelines in the Olonets area.
In addition, this year Gazprom began designing the gas pipeline "Volkhov-Segezha-Kostomuksha" with a length of about 720 km. The construction of the gas pipeline will create conditions for gasification of Medvezhiegorsk and Segezha municipal districts, Kostomuksha city district.
